Our inspection workflow

The workflow is calibrated to each watch. Not every step is applicable to every reference.

  1. Intake and ownership documentation

    Each watch is logged, and any documentation supplied with it is reviewed where available.

  2. Brand, model and reference identification

    Reference numbers, case markings and known configuration details are cross-checked against known references.

  3. Exterior component review

    Case, bezel, crown, pushers, crystal and finishing are examined under controlled lighting.

  4. Dial, hands, case, bezel and bracelet review

    Originality and consistency of dial, hands, indices, bezel insert and bracelet or strap are assessed.

  5. Movement review where appropriate

    Opening a watch depends on the model, condition and service considerations. Movement checks are performed only when appropriate.

  6. Serial and reference documentation

    Serial and reference details are recorded internally. Publicly visible serials are always masked.

  7. Timekeeping measurement where applicable

    Basic rate and amplitude may be observed on relevant references, without implying a full service.

  8. Water-resistance testing only when actually performed

    Water resistance is never assumed. Any testing is described explicitly, with date and method.

  9. Box-and-document review

    Presence and coherence of packaging, guarantee card, manuals and accessories is recorded.

  10. Condition grading

    A consistent grade summarizes visible wear, polishing, completeness and originality expectations.

  11. Photographic documentation

    Listings are photographed on the watch offered. Photography is supplied with the source listing and remains subject to review.

  12. Publication approval

    A watch is published only after the applicable checks are complete and the listing has been reviewed.

No. Whether a movement is opened depends on the model, its condition and service considerations. Any movement inspection performed is described in the condition report.

No. Water resistance is never assumed on a pre-owned watch. Any testing performed will be stated explicitly on the listing.
How are replacement parts disclosed?
Replacement parts identified during inspection are disclosed on the listing, distinguishing manufacturer service parts, period-correct parts, non-original parts, aftermarket parts and unknown status.
How are vintage watches assessed?
Vintage watches are assessed with attention to originality, service history and consistency of components. Age-related wear may be compatible with a vintage grade.
Can I request additional documentation?

What happens if information changes before purchase?
